Well, it's the beginning of the weekend and Thanksgiving week so this will be short.
My observation today centered around laughter. I have heard nothing but laughter since I got home and, come to think of it, the day started out laughing with one of my most favorite passengers. It seems like we are always laughing about something. It could be as benign as the idiosyncrasies of the van testing my limits or an observation she had of a grandchild, spoke about with love to be sure. I guess that's why I look forward each week as her driver.
My teenager is currently teasing a friend on some game system and it takes me back to when he and his brothers were little. It would take nothing for them to bust out in a full belly roar and that just sent us adults into laughter, complete with tears racing down our cheeks! If you haven't heard a child's laugh, search for it on YouTube. You'll have your pick and you'll feel great afterward, I promise.
I loved hearing my kids laugh, like any parent would, when they were little because what usually made them laugh was normally something so simple or common. A dog sneezing or surprising mom or dad were easy giggle makers for sure. Being little meant everything was still new and fresh. Everything was fair game! A parent's job comes with so many stresses that laughter has to be the antidote I'm sure. And no HMO or copay needed!
And sharing laughter is even better! When was the last time you belly laughed with another person? I don't mean the try-not-to-laugh videos the kids are watching these days, I mean good, quality comedy. Robin Williams, John Pinette and Whoopi Goldberg are a few who come to mind. Too many to list but you get the idea.
In any case laughter is free and sexy as hell.
Here's to the weekend and all the comedy you can take in!
Happy chuckles,
Me
